one of the most "unspectacular" (easy to apply) but immensely useful/pivotal features I recently experienced in photo metadata apps was the provision of a cache, easy to reach/see/reuse, which stores the last 10-20 keywords I applied.

Given the nature of the work and photo sets its immensely helpful to have this "recursive" scaffolding of semi-routine processes.
